SAFETY FIRST
Our latest addition to the collection
is flame-retardant base-layer clothing. The obvious choice for the fire
service, the police and armed forces and others imposing high demands
for safety and protection. SAFE meets the EU's stringent requirements
for flame resistance.
SAFE is essentially the same as
our ordinary base-layer clothing, and retains all its excellent characteristics.
The wool in SAFE garments is treated with Zirpro™ at the molecular
level, which gives permanent flame-retardant properties. The layer with
flame-proof Nomex® forms an additional protective layer between wool
and skin, providing even more resistance.
Because the wool is treated
at the molecular level, it remains flame-retardant wash after wash. All garments can be machine-washed at 40° without losing these excellent properties.
The combination of Zirpro™-
treated wool and Nomex® provides
optimal protection because the skin
is kept as dry as possible. This is particularly important because water and moisture conduct heat, which can result in severe burns even if the outer garments have not been burnt through. The garments are approved in accordance with EN 469 (0595),
